Argosy experts took part in a meeting held in Astana to discuss the challenges associated with the development of complex oil and gas fields in Kazakhstan. The meeting with representatives of major operators and service companies (Shell Kazakhstan Development B.V., Chevron, Total, ENI, LUKOIL, and Schlumberger) was convened on November 5, 2013 on the initiative of the Kazakh Oil and Gas Ministry and KazMunayGas company. Argosy specialists were invited to participateas globally recognized experts in unconventional oil and gas field development technologies.

It was noted that significant hydrocarbon reserves in Kazakhstan are contained in tight carbonate reservoirs in the Karaganchak and Tengiz fields, the development of which requires the application of modern stimulation techniques, including acidizing and acid fracturing methods. For efficient and cost-effective development of these fields, Argosy presented a solution involving the establishment of the National Center for Core analysis and Modeling of Reservoir Stimulation Effects, a proposal which was supported by the attendees to the meeting. The project was set to launch in 2014-2015.
